Coutinho not on Liverpool's radar

Liverpool are not entertaining the idea of re-signing Philippe Coutinho, reports The Daily Mirror.

Coutinho left Liverpool to join Barcelona in a deal worth £142M over two years ago but the Brazilian's career has nose-dived ever since.

The 27-year-old is no longer wanted by Barcelona and current club Bayern Munich are unlikely to make his loan switch permanent.

Coutinho was heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League last summer but ended up signing for Bayern on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.

The Brazil international has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth at Bayern this season and his future beyond the current campaign is up in the air.

A return to Liverpool has often been mooted for Coutinho but that ship has sailed as far as Jurgen Klopp is confirmed.

Coutinho not on Liverpool's radar

Liverpool have gone from strength-to-strength since Coutinho's departure, reaching two Champions League finals and moving to within touching distance of their first ever Premier League title.

Coutinho has been limited to just 15 league starts and seven substitute appearances in the Bundesliga this season.

Despite having to settle for a bit-part role at Bayern this season, Coutinho has still returned eight goals and six assists in the Bundesliga.
