Barcelona complete shock deal for Boateng

Barcelona announced on Monday evening the shock arrival of Sassuolo forward Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Ernesto Valverde’s side have secured Boateng’s services on loan for the remainder of the season with an option to buy in the summer.

Munir’s departure to Sevilla earlier this month prompted Barcelona’s search for a new striker as back-up to Luis Suarez.

Boateng only joined Sassuolo last summer and has now completed a shock move to one of the biggest club’s in the world.

“Barcelona and Sassuolo have arrived at an agreement for the loan of the player Kevin-Prince Boateng for the remainder of the 2018/19 season,” a statement read on the club’s official website. “The agreement includes an €8m purchase option.”
