PSG youngster and Arsenal target makes Bundesliga move

RB Leipzig have completed the signing of French midfielder Christopher Nkunku from Paris Saint-Germain, the club confirm.

The 21-year-old is the latest youngster to leave the club following the departures of Timothy Weah to Lille and Moussa Diary, who also joins the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen.

Nkunku’s versatility was an asset to the Ligue 1 champions last season, starting 13 league matches across six different positions as well as making a further nine substitute appearances.

In that time, spent predominantly on the right flank, Nkunku scored three goals and registered another two assists whilst boasting a superb pass accuracy of 91 per cent.

RB Leipzig are believed to have beaten off stiff competition for the youngster’s signature, with Premier League interest reported from the likes of Arsenal.

It’s Champions League qualifiers Leipzig that won the race, however, forking out just under £12m to do just that.
