Everton ace suffers another injury set back

Ross Barkley has suffered another injury set back after injuring his hamstring in training on Monday, reports The Daily Mail.

The England international is looking to secure a move away from Everton but his chances have taken another hit after succumbing to injury for the second time this summer.

Barkley had only just returned to full training after missing a large chunk of the summer following a hernia operation and now Ronald Koeman’s side fear the 23-year-old is set for an extended lay-off.

Tottenham and Chelsea are interested in signing Barkley before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month but neither are willing to match Everton’s stunning £50m valuation given his current deal runs out next summer.

News of Barkley’s injury will only reduce Everton’s bargaining hand further as both of their Premier League rivals seek a last minute bargain.

In the last five Premier League campaigns, no midfielder has been dispossessed more times than Barkley (224).
