Manchester City confident in pursuit of Premier League star

Manchester City will rekindle their interest in Alexis Sanchez in January and are growing increasingly confident of landing the Arsenal star for a cut-price deal, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Pep Guardiola’s side agreed a £60m deal with Arsenal in the summer but the deal collapsed after the Gunners failed to secure a replacement for the Chile international before the window shut.

However, City have every intention to return for Sanchez in January and are now eyeing a cut-price deal for the 28-year-old, who will only have six months remaining on his existing deal.

Sanchez appears to have no intention of extending his stay at Arsenal beyond the end of the season, which means Arsene Wenger will need to decide whether to sell him in January or lose him for nothing in the summer.

The Arsenal No.7 has made a relatively underwhelming start to the season and is without a Premier League goal after five appearances. In fact, at this stage of last season, Sanchez had already scored four goals and registered two assists in the Premier League.
