Inter to rival Bayern Munich for out-of-contract midfielder

Inter are considering a move for Bayern Munich target Leon Goretzka when his Schalke contract expires next summer, reports Calciomercato, via Football Italia.

Goretzka has entered the final 12 months of his existing deal and this season looks destined to be his last at Schalke.

The Germany international has already rubbished reports claiming he has a pre-contract agreement with Bayern and Inter will be able to steal a march on their European rivals in January.

Goretzka will be free to discuss terms with clubs outside of Germany at the start of next year and Inter are weighing up a move for the highly rated 22-year-old.

In the last three Bundesliga campaigns, Goretzka has won possession in the middle third more times than any other player (226).
