United boss plotting Serie A raid

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is preparing a fresh bid for Lazio forward Felipe Anderson having failed to land the youngster in the summer, according to Italian website Calciomercato.

Anderson, 22, has been heavily linked with a move to United in recent months and Van Gaal’s side reportedly failed with a £28m bid in the off-season.

The Brazilian still have five years left to run on his current deal with Lazio, which includes a £58m release clause in his terms and is reportedly open to making the switch to Old Trafford.

After making a slow start to the season Anderson is really starting to hit full stride. Anderson has scored at least two more goals than any of his Lazio teammates in Serie A this season (4) and is also averaging more dribbles per game than any player for Lazio (2.6).
