Manchester City and Real Madrid to battle for Manchester United target

Manchester United face stiff competition from city rivals Manchester City and LaLiga giants Real Madrid for Tottenham striker Harry Kane, reports The Metro. 

Kane sparked speculation last week as he opened up to the possibility of leaving Spurs, insisting that the north London side must match his ambition. 

That admittance has seen a host of teams linked with a move for the frontman in recent days, with Manchester United hoping to lure the England captain to Old Trafford. 

However, United may now have to bow out of the race to sign Kane, with Spurs slapping a £200m price tag on their goalscoring machine. 

United are long-term admirers of the 26-year-old, but fear they may be unable to land Kane as Manchester City and Real Madrid enter the race to land the striker. 

Spurs are expected to miss out on Champions League football this season as the club struggle under Jose Mourinho, who was appointed as Mauricio Pochettino's successor in November. 

Kane hasn't featured in a Spurs shirt since limping off in their 1-0 loss at Southampton on New Year's Day, but has scored more goals (11) and has a better WhoScored rating (7.30) than any other player for the north London side in the Premier League this season.
