Borussia Dortmund line up France international as Aubameyang replacement

Borussia Dortmund will move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette if they fail to keep hold of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, reports German outlet Bild, via Get German Football.

Lacazette has been heavily linked with a move away from Lyon over the past few years and the Ligue 1 giants have already admitted they may not be able to keep hold of their star man for another season as a summer exit beckons.

However, the 25-year-old will not come cheaply with Lyon looking to fetch at least €60m (£50.3m) for his services in the summer. A move to the Premier League had appeared the most likely destination for the Frenchman but now Dortmund could be about to enter the race.

Thomas Tuchel’s side do not want to lose Aubameyang but they have already conceded an offer from Real Madrid or Barcelona would leave them with little choice but to let the Gabon international pursue his dream of playing for one of the biggest clubs in Spain.

Both strikers have been in phenomenal form this season, with Aubameyang (26) only two goals ahead of the Lyon striker in the race to finish the season with the most goals in Europe’s top five leagues.
