Fenerbahce defender undergoes Sevilla medical

Sevilla have announced they have reached a deal in principle with Turkish giants Fenerbahce for the transfer of Simon Kjaer.

The Denmark international has agreed terms to a four-year deal that will run until 2021 and will undergo his medical on Tuesday before a deal can be completed.

Kjaer has spent the last two years in Turkey after joining Fenerbahce from Lille in 2015 but is now poised for another move across Europe.

The 28-year-old has already played in Italy with Palermo and Roma, while he spent two years in France with Lille and a further three seasons with German side Wolfsburg.

Eduardo Berizzo’s are now on the cusp of prizing Kjaer to Spain in a deal worth a reported €11m (£9.8m) as a result of their decision to let Adil Rami return to France earlier this summer.

In the last two Super Lig campaigns only Larrys Mabiala (6) has committed more errors that have directly led to an opposition shot on goal of outfielders than Kjaer (4).
