Bayern star sets demands amid Madrid interest

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski will demand €18m per season (£13.9m) to stay at the Allianz Arena amid mounting interest from Real Madrid, according to Spanish paper AS.

The La Liga giants have earmarked Lewandowski as their number one transfer target for the summer and believe they will still be able to land the Poland international after having their transfer ban suspended by Fifa last week.

Lewandowski is also aware of Madrid’s interest and is suggested to be open to a summer move to the Spanish capital, but Bayern are understandably keen to tie down their star striker on a new contract.

The 27-year-old still has three-and-a-half years left to run on his current €10m (£7.7m) a year contract but will sit down with his agent and the Bayern board to demand a huge increase for him to commit his future to the club.

Only Gonzalo Higuain (23), who Bayern will target if Lewandowski leaves, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (both 20), have scored more goals than the Bayern striker (19) across Europe’s top five leagues this season.
