Liverpool target Werner attracting interest from Real Madrid
Liverpool are believed to be hot on the heels of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner but may yet face competition from Real Madrid, according to The Mirror.
The German striker has been in fine form this season, with three goals to his name already having picked up where he left off last time around.
The 21-year-old scored 21 Bundesliga goals last season to alert to attention of Europe’s top teams and while he insists a move is not on his mind, the youngster has already made it clear that he sees his future at one of the top clubs on the continent.
Speaking to German paper Bild, Werner stated: “In Spain there are a maximum of three clubs with Barca, Real and Atletico Madrid,” Werner told Bild.
“In England there are a few more: Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.
“FC Bayern is also a big club, but for me it is not a topic that I am concerned with.”
Spanish outlet Don Balon have suggested that Real Madrid are among those keeping tabs on the Leipzig goal getters progress.
