West Ham line up Dimitri Payet replacement

West Ham will move for Swansea star Gylfi Sigurdsson this month if they fail to keep hold of wantaway star Dimitri Payet, reports L’Equipe, via Get French Football.

Payet, 29, is widely expected to leave the Hammers this month after telling the club he no longer wants to play for them, although Slaven Bilic’s side insist they do not want to sell their star player.

However, every player has their price and West Ham will reportedly be willing to part ways with the France international if any side is willing to match their £35m valuation.

Payet has been made unavailable for first-team selection until his future is resolved and West Ham are already looking at alternative options this month if they fail to keep hold of the Frenchman.

As a result, the Hammers have reportedly sounded out Sigurdsson but will reportedly need to fork out £30.6m in order to prize him away from relegation rivals Swansea.

Despite Swansea’s troubles in the league this season, the Iceland international has still managed to be at his creative best in the final third and is enjoying one of his best seasons in the Premier League.

Sigurdsson has played a direct hand in at least four more Premier League goals than any other player for Swansea this season (11).
