Chris Brunt is nearing his return to first-team action for West Brom nearly seven months on the sidelines injured.
The Northern Ireland international was miss Euro 2016 after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament against Crystal Palace in February.
However, West Brom have now confirmed that the 31-year-old has returned to training, although it will still be a while before he is match fit.
“Chris is making good progress – he’s doing well and now back in training,” Mark Gillett, Albion’s director of performance, told the club’s official website.
“Obviously, we need to balance that with the fact that he has been out for the last six months. We will make sure he is carefully managed over the next few weeks.
“I think Chris has shown a lot of character throughout his recovery.”
In the last seven Premier League campaigns only three players have registered more assists than Brunt (37).
