Aston Villa are considering a move for former Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The Championship side are currently in 19th and on the market for a new manager after sacking Roberto Di Matteo on Monday after 12 games in charge.
Bruce, 55, has been out of work since leaving his post as Hull manager before the start of the season and is the frontrunner despite having previously managed their fiercest rivals Birmingham for six years.
It would not be the first time Villa have recruited a manager with an association with Birmingham having handed the job to Alex McLeish in 2011.
Bruce carries a wealth of experience and led Hull to promotion from the Championship last season. In fact, in three years at Hull Bruce finished with a win ratio of 42.3%.
