Borussia Dortmund plot audacious move for Ajax star Ziyech

Borussia Dortmund have launched a stunning move for Ajax star Hakim Ziyech and hope to complete a deal this month, claims France Football.

Dortmund are currently six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and still involved in the DFP-Pokal and Champions League.

Lucien Favre’s side want to bolster their chances of success in all three competitions and have earmarked Ziyech as a top transfer target with just over 24 hours left in the transfer window remaining.

Ziyech has spent his entire career in the Eredivisie and developed into the league’s best player, re-affirming that since joining Ajax in 2016.

Ajax have already agreed to sell Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona at the end of the season and will be reluctant to lose Ziyech midway through the campaign.

The Dutch giants are still fighting in the Champions League and that could prove Dortmund’s undoing in their pursuit of the 25-year-old.

Ziyech is reportedly worth €35m (£30.5m) and it would take a substantial bid to convince Ajax to part ways with the Morocco international.

The Ajax star has finished each of the last two Eredivisie campaigns as the highest WhoScored rated player and is on course to achieve the feat again this term.

Since August 2016, Ziyech ranks top in the Eredivisie for key passes (321), goals and assists combined (63) and second for dribbles completed (208).
