Real Madrid to swoop for Manchester United and Arsenal target
Real Madrid sent scouts to watch Porto defender Eder Militao in recent weeks according to Spanish outlet Marca, with European champions impressed by what they have seen.
The 20-year-old only signed for the Liga NOS champions in the summer but has made an immediate impact in Portugal since arriving from Sao Paulo.
The youngster was utilised at right-back for the Brazilian club but has excelled at centre-back for Porto and has been identified as a target by a number of Europe’s top clubs.
Both Manchester United and Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Militao, though Real Madrid’s liking will be a potential head turner given their need for defensive reinforcements.
The Brazilian scored his first goal for Porto with what proved to be the match winner at Aves on Thursday but it’s his aerial presence at the back and anticipation that has most caught the eye.
The centre-back has earned a place in the WhoScored.com team of the season so far in Liga NOS with a rating of 7.47 and Porto will no doubt demand a significant fee for one of the hottest prospects in Europe right now.
The report claims that the Portuguese champions will hope to start any negotiations in the region of €50m for their in-demand defender.
