PSG to rival Chelsea for Premier League striker

Paris Saint-Germain are weighing up a move for Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente but face stiff competition from Chelsea, reports L’Equipe, via Get French Football.

Unai Emery’s side are determined to sign a new striker to provide back-up to Edinson Cavani and the need to strengthen has been made even more of a priority with Jese’s exit reported to be imminent.

However, the reigning Ligue 1 giants could miss out on his signature with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte keen to reunite with the Spaniard at Stamford Bridge this month.

Conte struck up a good relationship with Llorente during their time at Juventus and now sees him as the ideal frontman to partner Diego Costa in attack when needed.

The 31-year-old’s arrival at Chelsea would certainly seem an underwhelming capture by supporters, as it would also mean Michy Batshuayi is sent out on loan to either West Ham or Swansea.

Llorente has scored six goals in 17 league appearances for league strugglers Swansea this season, while five of those goals have come in his last nine appearances.
