Tottenham have expressed an interest in Atletico Madrid winger Angel Correa, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Correa has spent the last five years at Atletico but is free to leave this summer, as Diego Simeone plots a squad overhaul.
The 24-year-old was widely expected to join AC Milan but the Serie A outfit are balking at Atletico’s €50m (£45.7m) valuation.
Correa’s agent is in Milan for further talks with Marco Giampaolo’s side but now they face competition from clubs in Spain and England.
Tottenham are understood to be the side from England leading the chase for the Correa.
Atletico are interested in signing Christian Eriksen from Tottenham after missing out on Real Madrid creator James Rodriguez.
However, it’s unclear whether a possible player-plus-cash deal has been mentioned between the two clubs.
Correa has played a direct hand in 38 goals in 130 league appearances for Atletico and has spent the last three years as a first-team regular.
In fact, since August 2016 only Antoine Griezmann (105) has made more league appearances for Atletico than Correa (104).
