West Ham eye move for Liverpool attacker

West Ham have earmarked Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as a potential transfer target this summer, reports The Daily Express.

David Moyes is still desperate to strengthen his attacking options for next season after conceding defeat in pursuit of Manchester United's Jesse Lingard.

The England international was a revelation on loan at West Ham last season but the Hammers have been priced out of a permanent move.

Moyes has made West Brom's Matheus Pereira his number one choice to replace Lingard but faces stiff competition for his services from the Middle East.

West Ham have therefore added Chelsea's Ross Barkley and Liverpool's Oxlade-Chamberlain to their list of transfer targets.

Barkley has no future at Chelsea but is no closer to a move away from Stamford Bridge after his failed stint on loan at Aston Villa last season.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is another on Moyes' radar but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has a tough decision to make over his future.

The 27-year-old is not a first-team regular by any means but has been used as a No.9 during pre-season as Klopp looks for alternatives to Roberto Firmino.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has entered the final two years of his current Liverpool contract so this could be the last chance the Reds have of getting maximum value for the former England international.

Oxlade-Chamberlain only made 13 Premier League appearances last season  and only two of those were starts.
