Liverpool weighing up move for Arsenal man

Liverpool are considering a move for Arsenal midfielder, and Chelsea target, Aaron Ramsey ahead of next week’s 5pm transfer deadline, reports the Daily Express.

Ramsey is entering the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and is yet to decide whether he wants to prolong his stay in north London.

Chelsea have been credited with an interest in the Wales international, but Liverpool could make an offer for the 27-year-old if Jurgen Klopp wishes to add to his midfield.

The Reds have already acquired Naby Keita and Fabinho this summer and Klopp isn’t short of midfield options, with the Liverpool boss also able to call upon Jordan Henderson, Georgino Wijnaldum and James Milner in the middle of the park.

However, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set to miss a substantial chunk of the season with a knee problem, Klopp isn’t prepared to be caught short in midfield with Liverpool considering whether to move for Ramsey.

Ramsey was impressive when fit for the Gunners last term as he scored seven and registered eight assists for Arsenal to return a WhoScored.com rating of 7.27.

Supporters are eager to see him extend his stay in the capital, but Liverpool and Chelsea could look to exploit any indecisiveness over his future at the Emirates.
