Sampdoria offer Liverpool flop way out

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has confirmed he wants to give Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli a lifeline this summer.

Balotelli, 25, has returned to Liverpool after his failed season-long loan move at AC Milan last season but doesn’t have a future under Jurgen Klopp.

The former Italy international is currently training with the Liverpool squad in pre-season and Sampdoria are interested in giving him another chance this summer.

"Balotelli is Balotelli’s own worst enemy,” Ferrero is quoted as saying by Press Association.

“He could relaunch (his career) at a passionate club like ours, but I think he’s still got mixed feelings. I’ve tried to tell him to come Samp because he’s a great talent.”

Balotelli hasn’t scored a league goal from open play since February 2015 (for Liverpool vs Tottenham).
