Fiorentina contemplating legal action over Salah deal

Fiorentina are considering taking legal action against Mohamed Salah after he reportedly turned down the chance to sign for the Viola for another year.

Salah spent the second half of last season on loan with Fiorentina and impressed, gaining a WhoScored rating of 7.17.

However, Vincenzo Montella's sacking by the club earlier this summer led the Egypt international to question his future at the Stadio Artemino Franchi.

Chelsea and Fiorentina have agreed a deal that would see Salah remain in Florence for the next 12 months, but the wideman is against the move and is, as things stand, currently stuck in Serie A loan-limbo.

"Through his representative, the player has rejected our improved contract offer and expressed his desire to join another club," a statement read on the official Fiorentina website.

"He also informed us that he does not intend to respond to our request for him to report back for preseason training. As a result of the above, we have placed the matter in the hands of our lawyers so that they may assess all possible courses of action in order to protect the club’s rights."

Inter, Roma and Juventus have all been linked with a move for Salah this summer, though his situation with Fiorentina must be rectified before any future transfer could happen.
