Chelsea and Manchester City interested in Serie A wonderkid
Chelsea and Manchester City will continue to watch Genoa teenager Pietro Pellegri after he scored two goals on his debut at weekend, reports newspaper Il Secolo XIX, via Football Italia.
Pellegri, 16, came off the bench and scored two goals in a 3-2 defeat to Lazio on Saturday and the Italian striker is now one of the most talked about players in Serie A.
AC Milan, Juventus and Inter were reportedly all in talks with Genoa to sign the teenager over the summer, as well as his 15-year-old team-mate Eddy Salcedo, for a combined €60m (£ 53.2m) fee.
However, the Serie A giants now face competition from Chelsea and City, who will continue to track the youngster for the remainder of the season ahead of next summer.
Only Paulo Dybala (8.01 vs Chievo) has garnered a higher WhoScored rating as a substitute than Pellegri managed on debut at home to Lazio (7.96).
