Milan boss teases Ibrahimovic interest

AC Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic claims the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic would help the Rossoneri capture the Serie A title next season.

Mihajlovic’s side have not lifted the Scudetto since Ibrahimovic’s first season at the club in 2011 and have been linked with a move for the Paris Saint-Germain striker all summer.

The Sweden international scored 56 goals in 85 games during his two years with Milan and Mihajlovic, who replaced club legend Filippo Inzaghi at the end of last season, believes the return of Ibrahimovic would transform them into genuine title contenders.

“I don’t know what to say about Ibrahimovic – he’s a player who can make the difference and landing him would be phenomenal,” the Milan boss is quoted as saying by ESPN.

“He would make us even more competitive. If he were to arrive, then we would be serious candidates to win the Scudetto. He’s a player who can tip the scales.”

Ibrahimovic, 30, played an integral part in Milan’s last championship winning side and finished the 2010/11 campaign as the only player to hit double figures for both goals (14) and assists (11).
