Costa and Courtois want new Chelsea deals

Chelsea’s title challenge has received a boost with news Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois are ready to commit their futures to the club by signing new deals, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Costa, 28, looked set to return to Atletico Madrid at the end of last season following a turbulent second season at Stamford Bridge and the Spain international has even admitted he wanted to move back to Spain in the summer.

However, the Brazilian-born striker was convinced to stay at Chelsea by new manager Antonio Conte and their sensational resurgence in recent months has seemingly put Costa’s mind to rest and convinced the fiery forward to commit his future beyond his existing four-year deal.

The former Atleti striker has scored 10 goals in 12 matches this season and could even see his wages rise from £150,000-a-week to £200,000-a-week in his latest extension.

Courtois, whose future at Chelsea was similarly in doubt with reports suggesting Real Madrid were interested in signing the Belgium international, also has four years left to run on his existing deal, and would be earning £150,000-a-week if he pens the new terms.

The 24-year-old has conceded a Premier League goal in his last 600 minutes of Premier League action.
