AC Milan bid for Manchester United defender

AC Milan have made a loan offer for Manchester United outcast Diogo Dalot, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.

Dalot has dropped completely out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is free to leave if a suitable offer is received.

Milan are on the market for a new right-back and enquired about loaning Dalot with an option to buy at the end of the season.

United would prefer to offload Dalot permanently this summer and any loan move would likely have to include an obligation to buy.

The Red Devils are currently in talks to sign Porto left-back Alex Telles to allow Brandon Williams to move over to right-back as cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Even Timothy Fosu-Mensah is above Dalot in the pecking order for places at Old Trafford and Telles' arrival will only compile his misery further.

United shelled out in the region of £19m to sign Dalot from Porto in the summer of 2018 and then-manager Jose Mourinho was confident he would develop into the club's first-choice right-back for years to come.

However, Dalot has made just 13 Premier League starts for United since then and was limited to just one last season, with the 21-year-old yet to feature in any competition this term.
