Borussia Dortmund interested in Werder Bremen ace Rashica
Borussia Dortmund are one of several clubs around Europe interested in signing Werder Bremen ace Milot Rashica, claims German outlet Sport1.
The 23-year-old is widely expected to leave Werder at the end of the current campaign give the clubs recent woes.
Once football is safe to resume following the deadly outbreak of COVID-19, Werder will continue their relegation battle as they currently occupy second from bottom in the Bundesliga.
Talks with other clubs about Rashica's future were already happening before football was suspended, including with Dortmund.
Dortmund are currently planning for life without star winger Jadon Sancho, who is expected to return to the Premier League this summer.
However, a move for Rashica is independent of Sancho's future at the club but Dortmund can also expect stiff competition from Premier League sides.
The Kosovo international has a €38M (£33.2M) release clause in his exisiting contract with Werder but their hopes of commanding that fee may now be slim.
Relegation to Bundesliga 2 would certainly weaken their bargaining hand, while transfer valuations across the board are expected to tumble as a result of COVID-19.
In Rashica's two full seasons at Werder, the 23-year-old has played a direct hand in 24 goals in 46 league appearances for the Bundesliga side (16 goals, nine assists).
