Manchester United not in the race for Real Madrid outcast Bale

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ruled out a move for Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale, claims the London Evening Standard.

Bale has spent the last six years at Madrid but is free to leave this summer after falling completely out of favour at the club since Zinedine Zidane’s return.

The Wales international was an unused substitute in Madrid’s final league game of last season providing the clearest indication yet he has no place in Zidane’s vision for the club.

Madrid have spent more than £250m on new players this summer and must offload several players in order to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP).

Bale is one high profile name expected to leave Madrid before the start of next season but Madrid have yet to find a willing buyer.

United have unsuccessfully tried to sign Bale on a number of occasions in the last six years and now the Wales international is finally available they are no longer interested.

Solskjaer started the summer with Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho in his sights and is not willing to comprise on an alternative.

United have already signed Daniel James from Swansea and Solskjaer does not want to settle for a short-term option like Bale.

Solskjaer is determined to stop United from signing big name players and their stance on Bale is a clear indication they are willing to wait until next summer to sign Sancho.

Bale has won the Champions League on four occasions at Madrid and has played a direct hand in 144 goals in 195 league and European appearances for the club.
