Nantes defender Papy Djilobodji is travelling to Chelsea to undergo a medical ahead of completing a cut price £2.7m move to the Premier League champions, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been scouring the market for defensive reinforcement following their poor start to the season and has now turned to Djilobodji, having failed with four bids for Everton centre-back John Stones.
Djilobodji, 26, has entered the final 12 months of his deal with Nantes and has made his intentions of leaving be known to the club this summer. So much so, that he hasn’t featured for the Ligue 1 outfit this season and has been training with the development squad this summer.
The Senegal international finished last season as Nantes highest WhoScored rated player in Ligue 1 (7.31).
