Chelsea hopeful Hazard will sign new £300,000-a-week contract

Chelsea are hopeful that Eden Hazard will put questions about his long-term future to bed by signing a new £300,000-a-week contract, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Hazard has been regularly linked with a move to Real Madrid in the past after establishing himself as one of the best players in the Premier League in the last few seasons.

However, the Belgium international is happy at Chelsea and Antonio Conte’s side are hopeful that their decision to sign his 22-year-old brother, Kylian, will also help in their attempts to secure his long-term future.

The 26-year-old still has three years remaining on his current deal but Chelsea are even willing to make him the best-paid player in the club's history.

The reigning Premier League champions are confident that Hazard can flourish in the Champions League this season despite only being limited to one start so far this season after ankle surgery in the summer.

Since the start of last season, Hazard has been awarded the WhoScored Man of the Match more times than any other Premier League player (13).
