AC Milan wonderkid Donnarumma drops biggest hint about his future
Gianluigi Donnarumma is ready to put questions about his future to bed after revealing he wants to stay at AC Milan and is already looking at buying a new house in the city.
The 18-year-old wonderkid will only have 12 months remaining on his existing deal with Milan this summer and he has been heavily linked with a move away from San Siro in recent weeks as a result.
Donnarumma’s agent Mino Raiola has previously claimed that his client deserves to play for a great team and it was thought that he would either join Manchester United or Real Madrid this summer.
However, both have opted against playing goalkeeper roulette for now, while Milan have also invested heavily into their squad already this summer, which seems to have convinced Donnarumma the best decision for his career is to stay with his boyhood club.
“Everyone knows that my wish is to stay in Milan,” Donnarumma told GQ from Italy’s training base, via Football Italia. “I’m looking for a house in the city to live with my family.
“I’m calm, all the parties involved know the decision I’ve made. I’m very much tied to these colours. Both Mino and Enzo Raiola and I are a cohesive team.”
Vincenzo Montella’s side have already signed Ricardo Rodriguez, Mateo Musacchio and Franck Kessie, while Porto striker Andre Silva is poised to become the club’s second most expensive signing of all-time sometime this week.
However, it is news that Donnarumma will continue at the club that will please supporters the most given his status as one of the genuine world class talents in Europe.
In fact, the teenager finished the 2016/17 campaign in the WhoScored team of the season in Europe’s top five leagues after securing the highest rating of all goalkeepers (7.05).
