Valencia desperate to secure long-term future of Liverpool target
Valencia are sweating on contract talks with Ferran Torres amid interest from Liverpool, claims Marca.
Torres' current Valencia deal is due to expire in the summer of 2021 and the Spanish winger has emerged as a transfer target for Liverpool.
Liverpool have been tracking Torres' development for a number of years and are interested in signing the 20-year-old at the end of the season.
With Mo Salah and Sadio Mane due to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations midway through next season, Jurgen Klopp has made bolstering his attack a priority this summer.
Torres' current deal includes a €100M (£88.5M) release cause but Liverpool will not pay that much for the youngster, particularly with just 14 months left to run on his contract.
Failure to convince Torres to sign a new contract before the season ends will leave Valencia with no choice but to cash in this summer.
Torres has played a direct hand in eight goals in 25 league appearances for Valencia this season and has also been linked with moves to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The Valencia starlet reserved his best performances for the club's Champions League group stage campaign where he finished with a WhoScored rating of 7.47.
