Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign Arsenal creator-in-chief Mesut Ozil and is willing to offer the Arsenal No.11 £250,000-a-week to complete a deal, reports The Sun.
Ozil, 28, is already Arsenal’s best-paid player on £140,00-a-week but the Germany international is yet to commit to a new deal with only two years remaining on his existing contract.
Arsene Wenger’s side need to sort Ozil’s future quickly in order to prevent a situation where they could be forced to sell their club-transfer record signing, but that task has seemingly been made more difficult following reported interest from rivals United.
Ozil was one of the few players Mourinho held a good relationship with during his stint as Real Madrid manager and United are willing to almost double his wages in order to secure his long-term services in the summer.
Since the start of last season Ozil has registered at least four more assists than any other player in the Premier League (20).
