Liverpool manager rules out move for Manchester City outcast

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has poured cold water on reports linking the club with a summer move for Manchester City outcast Joe Hart after reiterating his faith in Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

Hart has spent the season on loan at Serie A side Torino after being deemed surplus to requirements by Pep Guardiola and is expected to return to the club at the end of the season despite Torino’s desire to extend his stay.

However, Torino will not be able to afford to buy Hart outright and the England international isn’t expected to return to favour at City, leaving his future up in the air beyond the end of the current campaign.

Hart was linked with a move to Liverpool at the start of the season but Klopp has not changed his mind on the goalkeeper despite failing to settle on a long-term first choice goalkeeper.

“He’s a fantastic keeper, the highest quality, but it’s not for us at the moment, nor in the future,” BBC Sport quote Klopp as saying.

The 30-year-old has endured a mixed season in Italy and was on the receiving end of some stern comments from Torino’s president after a mistake almost cost his side all three points earlier this month.

In fact, only Josip Posavec (7) has committed more errors that have directly lead to an opposition goal than Hart (5).
