Manchester City legend poised to join Beckham’s Inter Miami

Manchester City midfielder David Silva will join David Beckham’s MLS venture Inter Miami at the end of the season, claims The Independent.

Silva’s current City deal is due to expire next summer and the former Spain international has already confirmed he will not renew with the defending Premier League champions.

It was widely expected the 33-year-old would return to hometown club Las Palmas to end his career but it has now emerged his future has taken a dramatic twist.

Silva will instead head up Beckham’s new franchise, Inter Miami, when they make their MLS debut next year.

Inter Miami, whom Beckham is a part owner of, have been linked with a variety of the biggest stars in football, including Barcelona ace Lionel Messi.

Silva has spent the last nine years at City and will go down as one of the Premier League’s best ever players.

Pep Guardiola’s arrival at City in 2016 has even managed to elevate Silva’s game to another level, though the hectic English schedule is inevitably taking its toll.

Nevertheless, only Kevin de Bruyne (five) has registered more assists than Silva (four) in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
