Jack Grealish wants to captain Aston Villa in the Premier League next season and will turn down any advances from Tottenham this summer, claims Sky Sports.
Grealish had been earmarked as a top transfer target by Tottenham after enjoying a superb campaign for Villa.
Villa would have had little choice but to sell fan-favourite Grealish this summer had they missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
However, Dean Smith’s side beat Derby in the Championship play-off final on Monday and Grealish is not interested in leaving his boyhood club.
Grealish has taken his game to another level under Smith and is purely focused on captaining Villa in the Premier League next season.
It means that Tottenham will be forced to re-assess their options in the summer transfer window, which is perhaps why they are now being heavily linked with a move for Leicester creator James Maddison.
Grealish played a direct hand in 13 goals in the Championship this season (six goals, seven assists) and finished the campaign as the second highest WhoScored rated player in the division (7.42).
