Former Paris Saint-Germain left-back Lucas Digne has revealed he turned down the chance to move to the Premier League this summer in favour of Roma.
Digne, 22, had been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the transfer window but opted instead to seal a season-long loan move to Roma.
[Coach Rudi] Garcia had a big impact on my decision to comer here, but he wasn’t the only reason, since Roma have been interested in me for years.
“I’d received offers from England too, but I realised that Roma was the club I wanted the most.
“I’m here on loan, so I can’t say how long I’ll be here, but I’ll give everything for this shirt.”
The 22-year-old has made a fine start to life in the Italian capital and already has an assist to his name in just two appearances.
