Juventus midfielder on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar

Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Juventus veteran Sami Khedira to bolster their midfield options, reports The Daily Mail.

Juventus signed Emre Can on a free transfer at the start of the summer after identifying the former Liverpool midfielder as Khedira’s long-term replacement.

Khedira opened the scoring in Juventus’ thrilling 3-2 win over Chievo on the opening-weekend of Serie A fixtures before being replaced by Can with six minutes left.

The Germany international has entered the final 12 months of his current deal with Juventus and PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel is eyeing a cut-price move for the 31-year-old.

Juventus do not want to lose Khedira, especially as the Italian transfer window has already closed, and believe the former Real Madrid midfielder will end up renewing with the Old Lady.

PSG have also been linked with Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic but the La Liga champions know the Croatia international is too expensive for Tuchel’s side.

Rakitic has a €125m release clause and Barcelona have made it clear there is no room in negotiations, pricing PSG out of a move due to their Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions.

Khedira has spent the last three years at Juventus after joining from Madrid on a free transfer in 2015. He netted nine league goals for Max Allegri’s side last season, his best-ever haul in a single-league campaign.
