Chelsea have opened talks with Brentford over a possible move for key winger Said Benrahma, reports RMC via The Daily Express.
Benrahma is widely considered to be one of the best players in the Championship and he has yielded the second highest WhoScored rating (7.40) in the league this season.
Chelsea are in the market for a new winger this summer ahead of the expected departures of Pedro and Willian.
Hakim Ziyech will join the Blues next month to ease their respective exits, but head coach Frank Lampard is looking to bring in another wideman.
Benrahma has been linked with a Premier League move in the past, and he came close to a move to Aston Villa last summer, but that deal failed to materialise.
However, the Blues would face competition for from Leicester and Arsenal for the Algerian, with the duo also interested in luring the 24-year-old away from west London.
Benrahma has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists for Brentford this season, while only Eberechi Eze (111) has completed more dribbles than the Bees ace (105) in the Championship.
