Arsenal monitoring Brighton star ahead of potential summer swoop

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Brighton striker Evan Ferguson ahead of a potential summer swoop, reports Football Insider.

The Gunners are expected to make a move for a new forward in the off-season to add another dimension to their attack.

A criticism of Arsenal this season has been that their strikers have struggled to consistently hit the back of the net, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah bagging just nine league goals between them this term.

The north London side are eyeing up a number of strikers to fit into their system, with Ivan Toney also linked with a move to the Emirates.

Toney was reportedly Arsenal's number one forward target last month but a move across the capital failed to materialise.

Ferguson, though, wouldn't come cheap with Brighton able to command at least £100m for the 19-year-old, who has scored six league goals for the Seagulls this season.

The teenager's current deal at the Amex runs until 2029, so Brighton are under no pressure to sell Ferguson this summer.
