Chelsea prepared to spend big on midfielder in the summer

Chelsea are planning on strengthening in the summer with the capture of Inter midfielder Matias Vecino, reports the Sunday Express.

The Blues saw their transfer ban lifted in January, but head coach Frank Lampard failed to bring in any new faces at the turn of the year.

However, Chelsea already have their plans in place to bolster the squad in the summer having recently confirmed an agreement is in place for Ajax sensation Hakim Ziyech.

And in what is expected to be a busy summer at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are looking into the possibility of paying Inter £23m for the Uruguayan.

Vecino has made 12 league starts for Inter this season and recently scored his second league goal of the campaign as Inter came from behind to beat Milan rivals AC Milan.

The west London outfit would face competition from Everton for Vecino, with Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti believed to be a fan of the 28-year-old.

Chelsea are also exploring the possibility of signing Jadon Sancho as Lampard looks to strengthen his wingers at the end of the season.
