Manchester United will rival Liverpool for Bundesliga starlet

Manchester United are ready to lock horns with Liverpool if Jurgen Klopp’s side attempt to sign Borussia Dortmund youngster Christian Pulisic, reports The Independent.

Pulisic has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League since the start of last season after flourishing for Dortmund and emerging as the brightest ever player from the United States.

Liverpool have identified Pulisic as a summer transfer target but can expect stiff competition from United, who would look to send Henrikh Mkhitaryan back the other way if he is still at the club.

Dortmund are interested in re-signing the Armenia international but would immediately be priced out of a deal if United look to recoup as much of their original £27m investment as possible.

Pulisic, who was a boyhood United fan, has completed more dribbles than any other Bundesliga player (49) this season.
