Solskjaer the reason Chong is leaving Manchester United, claims agent

The agent of Manchester United starlet Tahith Chong has suggested Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the reason why his client will leave in the summer.

Chong has entered the final six months of his current United deal and will not renew with the Red Devils.

The 20-year-old has decided he wants to leave United and move to Italy, with Juventus and Inter battling for his signature.

Both are reportedly prepared to offer Chong £50,000-a-week wages and a huge signing-on fee in order to land him on a free transfer.

Despite failing to grasp his first-team opportunities this season, United wanted Chong to pledge his long-term future to the club.

However, Chong's agent, Erkan Alkan, has suggested part of the reason his client wants out is because of Solskjaer.

"He [Solskjaer] has different views on Tahith than the leadership," he told Voetbal International, via The Times.

"A coach thinks about himself, I think about my player. He has come to a point where he feels that he is not going any further. Then it's time to look further."

Chong has made seven appearances in all competitions for United this season but is still looking for his first goal and has looked out of his depth in those matches.
