Manchester United enquire about Barcelona outcast's availability
Manchester United have enquired about the availability of Barcelona attacker Coutinho with a view to a summer approach, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Coutinho is currently on loan at Bundesliga side Bayern Munich, but the German outfit have already confirmed they won't be taking up the option to make his move permanent when the temporary deal ends.
Barcelona are likely to sanction Coutinho's sale before too long as they look to cut their losses on the Brazilian.
Coutinho secured a £142m switch to Camp Nou in January 2018 yet after a promising start to life in Spain, his performance levels dipped.
The 27-year-old was heavily linked with a Premier League return last summer, with United, Arsenal and Tottenham among those courting Coutinho at the time.
Liverpool have also credited with an interest in the Brazil international, but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has moved to distance the club from reports that Coutinho may return to Anfield.
It leaves United in the hotseat to secure his services with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eager to land another creative midfielder, despite the January capture of Bruno Fernandes.
