Nottingham Forest have announced they have made former Rangers manager Mark Warburton their new manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Warburton, 54, has been out of work since resigning as Rangers manager at the start of February but has experience in the Championship after managing Brentford for two years before going to Scotland in 2015.
The 54-year-old helped guide Brentford into the Championship during his first campaign in charge of the Bees but Forest’s first task will be to stay in England’s second tier this season.
Forest had only appointed Gary Brazil on an interim basis until the end of the season in February but their sharp decline down the table has forced the board into action once again.
Forest are only two points adrift of the bottom three after only managing four wins in their last 18 league matches. Not only that, but only Rotherham (82) have conceded more goals in the Championship this season than Forest (62).
