Burnley have made initial contact with FC Twente to sign Hakim Ziyech, according to Voetbal International, via Football Oranje.
Ziyech, 23, has been heavily linked with a move to Roma this month but Burnley are hopeful of concluding a quick deal for the Morocco international.
The attacking midfielder has entered the final two years of his existing deal with Twente but the newly promoted Premier League side are willing to shell out a large fee to sign him.
Ziyech was one of only two players in the Eredivisie that registered double figures for goals and assists last season (17 goals, 10 assists).
