Lazio star Immobile pens new deal

Lazio have announced Circo Immobile has put pen to paper on a new five-year deal running until 2022.

Immobile’s previous deal was due to expire in 2021 but the Serie A giants have reward the Italy international with a bumper new deal as a reward for his remarkable goalscoring form.

The 27-year-old joined Lazio from Sevilla in the summer of 2016 and has been a monster for Simone Inzaghi’s side ever since.

Lazio are currently third in Serie A and will have the chance to leapfrog Inter into second if results go their way this weekend.

Inzaghi's men have won six of their opening eight league fixtures and even inflicted a 2-1 win away to Juventus, in which Immobile scored both goals.

Since the start of last season, only Edin Dzeko (36) and Dries Mertens (35) have scored more Serie A goals than Immobile (34).
