Manchester City are in advanced talks with Bayern Munich to sign Thiago Alcantara, according to El Confidencial, via 101 Great Goals.
Guardiola promoted Thiago into the Barcelona first-team before taking him to Bayern with him in 2013 and now the Spaniard wants to reunite with the creative midfielder at the Etihad this summer.
The fact that Thiago is also represented by Guardiola’s brother, Pere, should help move the deal along, although Bayern would surely be reluctant to let their former manager take one of their best players this summer.
Thiago, 25, has been plagued with injuries during his three years at Bayern and has only managed to start more than 20 league games in a single-campaign once in the last seven seasons.
Only two players were awarded the WhoScored Man of the Match award more times in the Champions League last season than Thiago (3).
