Tottenham confirm third summer signing

Tottenham have announced the signing of Juan Foyth from Estudiantes.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the young Argentine for much of the summer, but came close to missing out on the defender once Paris Saint-Germain made their interest known.

However, the north London side have confirmed has arrival, with Foyth, 19, becoming the club’s third summer signing after Davinson Sanchez and Paulo Gazzaniga.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Juan Foyth from Estudiantes,” a statement read on Tottenham’s official website.

“The 19-year-old defender has signed a contract with the Club until 2022.

“Having established himself in Estudiantes’ first team, Juan has represented Argentina at Under-20 level 12 times and was a key member of their 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup and 2017 Under-20 South American Championship squads.”

Spurs are also expected to secure the services of Serge Aurier in the coming hours after the Ivorian was allowed into the country by the Home Office, with a five-year deal on the cards.
